Driver Prof

Mike Bilek is a native southern Californian who was born and raised in Long Beach.  His love of desert riding and racing spans over thirty years.  Beginning in the early 1980's, Mike first began racing motorcycles which in turn led to many other off-road vehicles such as jeeps, hummers, and sand cars.   In 2004 he purchased his first offical off-road race vehicle, an F-150 Ford Pro Truck.  Along with that then came the Dunebuggy.com car which he uses for prerunning the race courses.  After being severely bitten by the off-road racing bug, Mike now competes in two of his Class 1 Porter race cars and focuses mainly on SCORE and Best In The Desert races.  In addition to that, he is also a driving instructor/tour guide for www.WideOpenBaja.com which provides race car adventure trips accross Baja Mexico.

Before his racing career began, Mike worked 25 years for Custom Building Products of which he was also part owner of.  Custom is a major supplier to The Home Depot and many other tile distributors across the country.

Mike has two lovely daughters, Alexa and Jenna, ages 15 and 13.  One of their favorite activities to do with their dad is racing around on their quads and riding in the the prerunner cars.  Aside from his family, Mike's other hobbies include piloting both airplanes and helicopters, and being an avid collector of motorcycles.
